Well this begins the craziest week of my life. 2 schools in 1 week. Tomorrow will see me running to 2 schools and wed as well and thursday I will at a funfair and Friday there is a christian teacher's conference in the morning so basically I will be waking up real early and come Sat I will be heading to JB for a staff advance for 4 days but next week will be a week of rest as its the school hols but that doesn't mean I can rest on my laurels as I have to come up with stuff for the History Maker trip in Japan. Another crazy time.

21 - 26 Sept. Long flights...gah.....I hope I get to see Apostle Brown's children ministry.....

However there are bright spots in this week like there was this really Pri 1 cute girl called Ivy which I nicknamed her the bumblebee in Term 1. And today she came up to me and said " Uncle Joseph do you remember me? I'm the bumblebee! " and I was like oh you look different today! Infact she did cos last I remembered her, she had 2 pigtails and weren't wearing any specs but then she was chatty as ever and gave a lot of good answers. That's my bumblebee! If I had a duaghter, I would like her to be just like that! Cheerful and bright.

Better stop now, gotta go graze the pastures...Mooo

It's amazing how God will take His time to prepare you for your future.
Today's cluster meeting with Pastor Victor was about how God prepapred David to defeat Goliath.

God didn't equip David for war nor prepare him for it. He was just a youth and a shepard. He did defeat a bear and a lion but that pales in comparision to Goliath who was a champion since his youth.

All David had was a staff and a sling but Goliath was fully clothed in bronze armor, had a spear and a sword and a shield bearer!

And yet David hit him in the head with a small pebble with such force and accuracy that it cracked his skull.

God prepared David for that moment without David knowing it at all. He didn't wake up one day and said to himself " I'll nab me a giant's head today " but he went about his own business and it was his faith in God that gave him the victory.
That victory was David's defining moment.

David wasn't in the limelight at all but God prepapred him for teh future that was to come.

Out of sight, out of limelight, out of everyone's attention.

And that is exactly how God will mold us....He will take His time to fashion us so that we can do what He made us to do. He doesn't want pride and arrogance to ruin what He is readying us for. But when the time comes, God will pour Himself out into us to help us to acheieve whatever goal He has given us so that we can succeed and perform the impossible, not for our own glory but for His.

This sharing from Pastor Victor encouraged me. God has a great plan for us, He knows what we are capable of cos frankly He made us and equipped us since birth.
There are things I wanna do for children's ministry but I'm overwhelmed and beginning to have doubts on how to get it done.

Most importantly is are my dreams what God wants me to do? I just have to seek God..... Moo.

It's going to be another crazy week starting on Friday.

Sat its rock climbing with some kids and Mon thru to Wed I'll be out to a nearby school teaching the same P1s & 2s that I had taught in Term 1 so it will be great to see them again.

I've also noticed that I am a celebrity and a distraction at the same time.

Kids everyone start calling my name whenever they see me ( A couple even wanted my autograph ! ) and they start coming up to me to give Hi-5s. Well that's all and good but they do it even when they see me in class or when they are lining up with the teacher infront.

So imagine walking past their classrooms during lesson time and they all start to call me....I just had to walk REAL fast so that I don't incur the wrath of the teachers ( though they are very nice people ) and the children can get back to their lessons.

This term is a crazy term having to run to different schools to do the various programmes and in some instances I have to rush down to another school once the current session is over.

The kids are still fantastic and they remembered me as I could tell by the smiles on their faces when you look at them or when they run up to you just to say Hello or to give you a Hi-5.

Seems like God is giving me tough challenges in "taxi evanglism ". He started me off with teh easy ones, meaning those cabbies that are open and now I'm encoutering those who are slightly harder in the sense that they are staunch Buddists/Taoists or freethinkers and it was difficult to get through to them and share with them about Jesus but every time before I leave the cab, they would say " God bless " to me.
I dunno, perhaps God would do a greater work in them with others sharing more about Jesus to them. We are just one of the many signposts to point them to the way to the light. Jesus.

Dauglas made it. He will be out today. God made it happen. Awesome God. Almighty God. Friend. Savior. Healer.

Children never fail to amaze me. For this term I have been given amazing opportunities to teach the Primary 1 and 2s and they are just so lovable and adorable. When you first enter the school, the children will run to you shouting your name and saying hello.
Singapore Idol wannabes eat your heart out cos I have more fans than you!

What do I enjoy looking forward when I enter the hall? Their smiles. They can make the rainy day sunny again with their smile. Never mind if some teeth are missing, its that innocence that makes every kid special.

Well deadman's club is over and done with and there were some things that I wished I could have done better( Well isn't it true for every Sunday school session ? )

There are times when I want to give up my dreams and throw in the towel for CM but yet somehow, somewhere God sends a reminder to be faithful and the words He has spoken to me and the encouragments my friends have been giving to me pushes me on. He is teaching me and wanting me to get back to basics cos I have drifted too far ahead.

I will never forget this picture He showed me...

Cos He is always holding me by His hand.

Well in a few more minutes, 4th August would be over and 5th August would arrive.

9 years.....times flies and it just felt like yesterday you were that little P4 girl running around in ToF kicking people's shins.....well I guess you still kick them.... Oh wells.....Once GK , always GK........You have been a great help in GK and always the crazy one that I can depend on if I need help.

Of course there were others like Stanley who served as a motivation to serve the best you can in the ministry. I had the priviledge to work with him in GK during the early years in CLC times and it was great fun. He is always encouraging and he never fails to send postcards to encourage me. Thanks!

It's funny how the Holy Spirit aligns things/situations to get the job done.

Here's what happened yesterday:

I was rushing to another programme after finishing one at a primary school and I was sitting in a cab with my collegue. During the ride it was pretty silent until I dropped my collegue off at the office before heading down to the Singapore River. I was feeling tired but somehow the Holy Spirit prompted me to share with this cab driver.
In my mind i was thinking " Lord, I'm so tired, I just wanna rest in the cab" but teh Holy Spirit had His own agenda and the door opened when the cab driver started talking to me after I dropped my collegue off.
Guess there is no way to run when the Holy Spirit puts that prompting into your heart.....
Now he was a devout Taoist and we began our discussions about religion and I managed to share a bit but unlike the previous cab driver, this was slightly tougher as he said he couldn't understand how God could be so merciful and that we just need to accept Him and we are heavenbound. The ride soon came to an end and we said our goodbyes but then I came to realise, its God who does the work and not us.
Our role is just to share. We don't need a sermon but a simple testimony would do the trick.

God showed me one end result of taxi evangalism. A cab driver by the name of Joseph shared with me how people preached to him and invited him to church until he accepted the invitation of one of his regular customers.
End result: he is now in City harvest.

Never give up, never give in.
